Dr Christiana Demetriou’s research interests revolve around the epidemiology of chronic conditions, and more specifically, of neurodegenerative and neoplastic conditions. She is involved in the molecular investigation of the common links between chronic diseases, ‘Diseasome – an approach to understanding gene-disease interactions.’ In addition, she participates in research on the processes through which external exposures become internalized to influence health ‘biological embedding.’
