Nicholas Nicoli is Associate Professor of Communication at the University of Nicosia.
His research lies at the intersection of communications policy and media management. He draws on political economy of communications to analyze how, what and why digital media is produced and has conducted studies on the BBC, CYBC, Facebook, Trip Advisor and other similar entities.
His initial research sought to deconstruct creativity management policies within public service broadcasters. Thereafter he focused his attention on how entities apply strategic communication across digital landscapes. His current research investigates the relationship between democracy, news media and the digital economy sector.
He is heavily involved in the dissemination of science and ideas worth sharing through events such as TEDx and is or has been a science communicator on various European projects. He is also on the editorial board of The Journal of Media Business Studies and The Journal of Digital Media & Policy and is a co-founder of the Centre of Communication Studies and Research in Cyprus.
