Abstract

In this article we examine the logic of Zeno's Paradox/Argument " Against plurality " and we show, by analyzing Zeno's argument as it appears in Simplicius On Aristotle Physics 139,5-139,19 and 140,27-141,8, that there are two logical syllogisms in the argument, that both lead to contradictory conclusions (as Zeno was aiming to show). We reconstruct and analyze the second syllogism and we focus on its contradictory conclusion in order to show that the syllogism is (logically) unsound, and that this is the reason for the contradictory conclusions. We also discuss in brief the manner that " Eudoxus' Exhaustion Method " consists the fundamental technique that lies in the core of the complete resolution of the Zeno's Paradox " Against Plurality " , obtained via the theory Infinitesimal Calculus.
