Abstract
Music neuroeducation: dialogues between mind, brain and music education. The trandisciplinary field of Neuroeducation, or Mind, Brain, and Education Science (MBE), appears at the end of 20th century in order to offer an official meeting point between researchers and scientists from psychology, biology and education. Aim of the field is to study educational, pedagogical and didactical issues in the light of neurobiological findings concerning human learning. However, despite the general acceptance that this is particular important for teachers and educators in general, there are various epistemological and methodological issues on how this could actually be accomplished. The article presents the principles of this new scientific filed and examines the way in which it dialogues with the field of music education. It briefly discusses the ways in which findings from music neuroscience could help music teachers to improve their everyday music teaching in the classroom and how this collaboration could offer to the development of the field of Music Education and could influence educational policy in general. The aim is to inform and familiarize the interested reader with a research field that is still under development but whose potential consequences in music education could be very soon proved to be particularly important. The importance of music and music education in the development of human being and the quality of his mental, cognitive and physical health has been known since antiquity. However, the systematic collaboration of music education with the fields of neurosciences and neuroeducation could provide the possibility to highlights and supports this importance also with neurobiological terms.
