Abstract

A procedure of non-uniformly spaced array design is presented. The resulting layouts fulfill demanding beamforming problems with aperture and element size limitations. Our approach is analyzed in two steps: The deterministic procedure, where the aperture size and the number of elements are defined, and the stochastic gradient procedure where the far-field shaping and the element local arrangement are achieved.
