N2 - The paper investigates the area of Service-Oriented-Architecture (SOA) Governance in the field of Healthcare Information Systems (HIS). This analysis represents the alignment of a new and cutting age method to an existing and growing necessity of integrated healthcare systems. The study examines Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) adoption in the Healthcare sector and introduces a Service-Oriented-Architecture (SOA) Governance to overcome the barriers identified during the adoption. The paper will help IT practitioners learning how to use and manage the adoption of integration technologies and to realise their full potentials taking under concern future extensions. The research was based on a critical examination and analysis of earlier studies in the field of EAI adoption in Healthcare organisations. The barriers of the adoption were highlighted and the factors reviled. The field of SOA Governance has limited theory regarding its impact when applied in the Healthcare prospective, therefore, this paper attempts to draw parallels with other areas and combine different approaches established by professional researchers in the field.
