    Abstract

This paper identifies the need for an information system that assists decision making for the selection of appropriate statistical methods. The target group of users of the proposed system includes professional and/or scientists who are involved in data and statistical analysis but do not necessarily possess thorough mathematical training that could help them avoid shortcomings in their selection of methods. The proposed system employees non-monotonic logic, Argumentation Logic and relies on Gorgias-B system to guide the user through a dynamically readjusted linear path of argumentation to the desired proper solution.
