N2 - The use of magnetized ferrites usually results in a significant shift of the first resonance toward lower frequencies. By varying the external field, the material parameters change accordingly, thereby tuning the antenna to a relatively wide range of frequencies. The polarization of the antenna may also be controlled by adjusting the level or the direction of the external magnetic field. Ferrite loaded cavity backed slot antennas mounted on an infinite ground plane are analyzed using the finite element method and spectral domain method of moments.
