Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Children's well-being is a multidimensional concept crucial for their overall quality of life. This study investigates the complex relationship of variables influencing children's well-being in Cyprus, using the theoretical framework of Allardt's theory of well-being. It aims to uncover underlying factors shaping children's lives among well-being, bullying, home safety, satisfaction with possessions and satisfaction with time usage. Data were collected from 503 children using questionnaires. Results highlight the significance of satisfaction with time usage and possessions, their links to bullying and home safety and emphasise the fundamental role of well-being in children's holistic development and future trajectories. This study contributes essential insights to the understudied area of child well-being in Cyprus, advocating for interventions to enhance children's lives and underscoring the importance of prioritising children's well-being to foster their optimal growth and life satisfaction.
