Abstract
The environment within which businesses conduct themselves is going through rapid and far-reaching changes, with companies restructuring themselves to fit competitive `lean and agile' profiles. In parallel with this change, developers are proposing new paradigms and concepts and putting forward new tools that can facilitate companies in carrying out business process reengineering (BPR). As a result, organizations are searching for strategies to improve their performance with proactive management increasingly challenging traditional views and opinions of their business processes.
