Abstract

The paper presents an investigation of the collision dynamics of atomic clusters. The study of the dynamics of nanoclusters is of relevance in a number of problems such as understanding of nucleation mechanism, the fusion barrier in systems of clusters, as well as in biomedical applications. The molecular dynamics method has been employed to simulate nanoclusters collision. Coalescence and fragmentation phenomena have been studied for variable collision speed cases in order to examine the dynamics during the cluster-cluster interaction.
