Abstract

For many medical conditions (usually chronic diseases) participation in management by the patient plays as important a part as that of the doctor. Simple adherence to drug prescribing schedules is not enough. Patients may need to adjust their treatments and make lifestyle alterations in order to deal effectively with their condition.
