N2 - In this paper, we explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the Metaverse virtual economy, seeking to improve the understanding of this interesting area. The utilization of AI in the Metaverse reveals potential in many segments, including the virtual economy. The economy in a Metaverse environment offers even more opportunities to consumers and industries than the traditional Internet economy. At the same time the Metaverse virtual economy differs from the traditional online economy. In this paper we identify the similarities and differences of these two types of economy. We also conduct a systematic literature review and identify a gap that requires further research to be undertaken.
