Abstract

Death due to water intoxication is uncommon, though transient neurological dysfunction (confusion, headache, coma, convulsions) is well recognized. Some of the earlier cases reported were iatrogenic but most are psychogenic. We believe this to be the first reported case of accidental water intoxication with no psychiatric disorder and ending in death.
