    Abstract

By beginning with recent history of the Island nation of Cyprus, briefly reviews some of the ongoing machinations, as the rejection of the Annan Plan in 2004 and recent elections, in which the incumbent, the polarizing Tasos Papadopoulos, lost his seat. The new president of Greek Cyprus, Christofias, has proven more the unifier and diplomat than his predecessor, yet many challenges lay ahead. S. Fullmer.
