Abstract

The input impedance of a monopole on a finite polygonal ground plane is investigated. The solution is more accurate than previous solutions because vertex diffraction is included in the calculations and because the source segments are treated as distributed, rather than as lumped, sources. Results are shown for a square ground plane that agree with experimental measurements. Results are also shown for a rhombic-shaped ground plane and for a six-sided ground plane.
