Abstract

This Handbook introduces the instructor to issues of blended learning. It explains the different approaches to distance education, the difference between synchronous and asynchronous tools, computer based training, virtual learning environments, threaded text based conferences and how to teach the course using the various WEBBITT online facilities. This book explains the value of blended learning, helps the instructor acknowledge the requirements of an individual seeking such a course and how to motivate and maximize the learner’s achievements. It explains the advantages as well as the limitations of distance learning. It informs the instructor about his/her responsibilities and suggests effective teaching skills. This Handbook should not be mistaken as the solutions manual for the handbook: “Web Based Information Technology Training – WEBBITT (Student’s) Handbook”.)
