Abstract

The features provided by Blockchain technologies such as decentralized storage,
advanced security, and authentication indicate that they can be used in other applications such as the healthcare sector. The 1996 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) legal requirements stipulate strict authentication when sharing files in the healthcare sector. It is therefore essential to further develop blockchain technology, and through this work, the benefits of using these technologies in healthcare are highlighted.
