N2 - We examine the evolution and transition-to-turbulence of synthetic jets into quiescent air by performing three-dimensional numerical investigations using a high-resolution scheme for solving the compressible Navier-Stokes equations in the context of Implicit Large Eddy Simulation (ILES). The computational results show a good comparison to experimental data obtained from the NASA Langley workshop on CFD Validation of Synthetic Jets and Turbulent Separation Control.
