Abstract

During the last decade the application of permanent make up on the face (eyebrows, eyelids, lips) became very famous. As the number of these procedures increased, there was an increase of cutaneous adverse effects reported, owing to the ink used in these practices. Many organic and inorganic substances of unknown origin are contained in the pigments while the European Union legislation has many gaps. This situation combined with a bad level of knowledge on the permanent make up practice area, create a lot of serious issues on the security of these colors which can result in serious skin problems.
