Abstract
The results suggest that isradipine might be a suitable drug for antihypertensive treatment in pregnancy. Intravenous bolus injections had no adverse effects on fetal circulation and, in contrast to other calcium antagonists of a similar type, had little effect on uterine activity. Doses of isradipine 0.3mg promptly normalised blood pressure in hypertensive pregnant women.
