Abstract

The time domain response of the microstrip pair that has a distortion in the received pulses coming from the difference of the effective permittivity in the even and odd mode is studied. To overcome the problem, a set of more than one substrates that produce the same effective value in both modes are used. The Quasi-Static approximation in conjunction with the fast Fourier transform (FFT) is applied. With two substrate model, several combinations between the thickness and the permittivity give the same effective values in both modes.
