Abstract

The reconstruction of the conductivity distribution of an object through low frequency electrical measurements is known as Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT). A three dimensional reconstruction algorithm for EIT, based on a Modified Perturbation Method (MPM), is developed. This is also based on Finite Element Method (FEM) and involves the iterative solution of the Laplace equation and the calculation of the peripheral voltage derivatives with respect to each FEM element conductivity.
