Abstract
The B1Σ+ → X1Σ+ emission bands of deuterium chloride in the region 166-240 nm have been photographed in higher orders of a 10.7-m concave grating vacuum spectrograph. Computer-aided analyses of 56 bands of D35Cl have resulted in vibronic energies and single-valued estimates of the rotational parameters for upper and lower state levels with 0 ≤ v′ ≤ 7 and 11 ≤ v″ ≤ 23, respectively. RKR potentials for both states have been constructed, and the Franck-Condon factors have been evaluated at several values of the rotational quantum number. A short extrapolation from the emission data establishes the vibrational numbering of higher B state levels previously observed in the absorption spectrum.
