Abstract

This article analyses various aspects of the cognitive functioning of children with learning and behavioral difficulties, through the theoretical approaches of Piaget and Vygotsky. The overall exploration shows that the ideas and principles of both Piaget and Vygotsky regarding children's development can be used in combination for structuring and organizing educational and psychological intervention programs. Within this context, it is considered necessary to include the contribution of additional, more modern theoretical approaches, which take into consideration different parameters of child development.
