Abstract

In this paper we present the evaluation results of the webbased teaching and learning environment (http://www.learning-online.intercol.edu:8900, User Name: guestl, Password: guestl), which was developed using the WebCT software. The on-line material was developed as part of a 2-year project (September 2000 - September 2002) funded by Intercollege and the Research Promotion Foundation of Cyprus. During the Spring 2002 semester students used the material of the courses COMP-153 Visual Basic and COMP-351 Information Systems Concepts (found at the given URL address) as supporting learning material. The material for all the courses was designed as such and not to provide a complete distance-learning environment. We wanted to provide our students with additional educational support and this consideration was always in mind when designing and developing the supporting material. Herein, we report on how the students rated the WebCT software environment and the on-line supporting tools for each of the two courses they studied and present a summary for both courses.
